I don't know anything about bits and rates at this time. When it comes to phone messaging, does this make a difference?

My first client is for phone messaging. I didn't know to ask about the format. As I've been working with Audacity, it already set at 16 bits mono with rate of 44100. I have already made my recording.
Will this pass?

Thanks.

Sara

it's difficult to know what your client needs without asking him Wink But regarding the recording you've already done: don't worry, your settings (16bit 44.1kHz) are the settings used for CD recording, in other "non technical" words: best quality. Phone messaging systems usually have a much lower quality which means, that you can always downsample your high quality recording to the standard your client needs.

I've stopped answering phone greeting/IVR leads because I have found that most of them are looking more for technical advice on how to get the message into the system than a voice over. None of them seem to know what they need.
