After reading Mr. Gilbert's opinion of the Telefunken AK47 and checking with some other VO talents, I decided to try one. Needless to say it's not going back. It's definitely a keeper. A nice full sound and if your rooms right, alot of processing isn't needed at all provided your using a good clean pre as well. If your looking to add to your mic locker, check this one out. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Russ

Thanks for the props.

Glad you like the mic.

I've mentioned another relatively nerw microphone that I think is incredible especially at the price. It's a Heil PR-40. Similar in many ways to an EV RE20, with the exception of 2 things. The Heil is much easier to dirve. No need to crank your pre up to 11 to get good sound from it. The other aspect of the mic is that it seems to work very well on a larger range of voices thanthe veteran RE-20 and there are several women I know who liek the mic too.

Appears to me to be a lot of mic for not very much money.
