Hey Guys!
I'm kind of clueless as to what other marketing options are out there besides something like voice123 and/or an agent (not to mention I don't have the slightest idea as to how to aquire one or if I even need to! LOL )
Does anyone have any ideas/advice for me possibly?
Thanks! |

Larry,
I can only offer what's worked and is working for me. Set aside at least an hour a day to make contacts with production houses, ad agencies, cable companies, anyone that uses voiceover talent. Use the net to find them then just make a phone call. Google adwords has also worked for me. Once again, these are just a few things I do for marketing and your milage may vary.

Larry,
I know this is shamless self-promotion but, I have written a book which goes through the process of marketing and branding for voiceover artists. (I am going to leave the title out of the post - don't want to get too self degrading here...).
How good the book is, well, I can't say, however I like it. Marketing used by many "brick-and-mortar businesses will also work for you - with some minor exceptions. Online marketing by any company on the web is also a candidate for your consideration. Know the differences between marketing and advertising, and stick with marketing.
You might consider a web site which means business as a priority. All of the other marketing concepts; including business cards, stationary, brand image, seperate telephone number for your voiceover company, etc. are also important.
First and foremost consider your voiceover career a business, not a hobby.
Good luck.
Frank Frederick

These days, it is more important than ever to market yourself. Don't rely completely on your agent to do this for you, either.
There are a number of resources out there on the subject of marketing, and some very good ones pertaining to this particular industry. In addition to Frank's book, you may want to check out "The Art of Voice Acting" by James Alburger. I refer many folks to this. Hahahaha... I should get a commission! Thanks for listening.
