Hi all,
I got this public lead today:
| Quote: | Audiobook narration of our new literature classics series. Each piece will be about an hour of audio (about 20K words) We are putting out a new script every 2-3 days and are looking for a professional with reasonable rates that we can work with long-term.
Budget range $100 - $249 |
That works out to 0.5 to 1.25 cents per word.
Unbelievable!
Thankfully, only 19 people have replied.
It would be interesting to see who is 'fortunate' enough to get this one......
I guess all we need to do now is sit back and wait for the client to complain about the quality (or lack thereof) of the talent!

It would probably be even longer than that.
150wpm for an audiobook would sound pretty rushed.
120-130wpm (or less) would be a heck of a lot more comfortable to read, and to listen to.
The disappointing thing is that this lead is now up to 50 replies.
Deeeee-leted! |

Steve,
What a sad state of affairs..I'm sure shakespeare would turn in his grave, to cheapen his work is a crime..
Well, just my opinion, and that was a quick delete for me, not even worth offering a bid on.

I'm a big Voice123 supporter.
In fact, I'm usually the Grand Marshall in the annual Freddie Molina parade.
But this one, Steve, and the other indecipherable one today (something about Chuck Book and "throw in a Cap'n Jack" and other gobbeldygook) are adding to a run of crap lately that may begin to tip the scales.
When my daily mantra becomes Delete De Lot , there's something wrong with the gatekeepers.

If I might add a suggestion. Could V123 make it easier for me to DELETE leads I have no intention in answering.
The check box makes it easy for deleting low ball custom leads and the like. But if I could only have a little more info on the leads on the lead listings page, like they want a character, an impersonation, accent and so forth, it would allow me to go ahead and delete those at the same time. _________________ Keith D. I want a button like "delete lead and send thankyou to client" that sends an email to the client saying. Dear ******, thankyou for posting this horrible lead. A talent would like to inform you that they deleted your lead without auditioning, and would like you know they have auditioned for a different lead instead. _________________ Cheers,

but STEVE - they have a new script every two to three days! you can make up for low pay with quantity! you could work nearly every day you'd still make next to nothing but who wouldn't jump at that! _________________ From the rocking of the cradle to the rolling of the hearse ... the going up was worth the coming down. - Kris Kristofferson

Hey Todd,
Yeah, why wouldn't I jump at the chance!
Why wouldn't everybody?
.....after all we're all doing this 'coz we love the sound of our own voices....not because we actually want to make some money!
Maybe we should be able to rate clients.....add a "Delete and Blacklist" button to our options!
