No...that price includes the instant Delete, Heather.

I hope he doesn't mind - I haven't asked - but the very talented and personable Thom Wilkins has an excellent (and exhaustive) rate card at his personal web site.

I recommend a long amble through it.

Wish I could be of help, but I'm stuck in the same boat.

Someone today asked for a "Per Day" rate.
No word of recording lenght, copy, distribution - harumph!

I put my quote as "Negotiable based on full project specs" and explained that I'd be willing to discuss it with them...

Yup; I didn't mean to be curt, Heather. I meant to be Joe.
'Cuz that's the right approach.
I don't quote per word or per day either. What's the project?
Broadcast? Buyout?

Gimme a minute. (Quickly check date book for tonight and tomorrow. It says 'Take in laundry'. Otherise, it's blank.)

"That'll be $675. I can have it for you tomorrow morning."

Don't get bogged down.

Robert, No curtness perceived in said response! Laughing Sometimes I also don't see what is right in front of my face....hence the brain swirl. Laughing

Joe, I feel better knowing I'm not alone....Thanks for the post!

I'm with you Robert. The word "Buyout" rarely affects mt quote and I don't mess around with the per page or per minute thing. I do some stuff by hour but that is just an estimate based on the entire job.

Is it national? Local? Is this for your podcast with 4 listeners or am I talking to Microsoft? Then I just kind of figure out what I think I can get. I have rarely been turned down because we couldn't reach a pricing agreement and I usually get what I ask for.

A 60 second read is about 200 words and I consider that a "page." Whenever I see a word count, I devide by 200 to get the number of pages.
