I got a private lead today for 10 - 15 hours of audio. I have not recorded anything this long before, so wanted to get some pricing ideas.

Looking at the V123 pricing guide...to me it looks like 10 hours would be about $12000...could that be right?

I used this as a guide:
All Others:
Per minute of audio delivered:
US Dollars

Each additional minute
over 60 minutes: 20

So, $20/minute...10 hours would be $12000. Is this standard...or will I scare the bejeezes out of the client?

Help...please Shocked

Thank you Smile Julie

Nice score, Julie.
That quote will flush the client.
You're talking quantity here, though, so you can discount accordingly.

When you say 10-15 hours audio, is that finished or your total recording time?

To my thinking, if it's finished, figure three times that for recording and editing...45 hours. You can probably live with a $75/hour rate, which brings us to, oh, let's say $3400.

Now, is the client directly making money on this? Is it for broadcast of some sort?
If not, I'd throw in a low-scale buyout of 50% for a nice round total of $5,000, including retakes.
If yes, the buyout is 150% for a nice, round $7500.

But that just my take.
