Hey Joe! I took a listen to the demo you posted, and here are some of my thoughts. Keep in mind, I've been in the business about two years now and am not an expert or guru by any means Smile

You have a nice sounding voice and a nice tone overall, but it sounds like you were "holding back" on the demo as a whole. From a voice-acting standpoint, anyhow.

For example: the A1 sauce sounds like it's supposed to be the "energetic" piece of the demo - but it wasn't that energetic. It could be way more high-energy, and this would give more contrast with the next spot:

The anti-drugs spot is a good no-nonsense type read, but it comes dangerously close to sounding bored. It's a fine line to tread, but if you could inject more caring and love and still be no-nonsense I think it would come across better.

Other than that, the first spot of the demo is definately too long - it needs to be less than 7 seconds or so.

And the last spot I just didn't like - very announcery and over-produced with too many effects.

So that's my 2-cents! Take it all with a grain of salt, like I said, and be encouraged that you've got a great tone!

If you post it as an mp3, I think more of us would listen to it.

You're awesome. The demo is not. No more than 10-15 seconds of any one spot. Lead with your best stuff. show a good variety of range within your 'money voice.' Only use character voices on a character demo. Go to Voicebank.net and listen to the 'big boys' to see what a competitive demo sounds like. You are very talented and deserve to have a demo that shows that off.

Amy is right, Joe. Real Media files suck the daylights.

I go to extreme lengths to avoid installing the crapware/spyware that is RealOne, so here's what I do.

Use the Real Player Alternative:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm

It's bundled with the free Media Player Classic, so you can stream and play RM files without dealing with the crapware!
