How's about if I start it with something that has nothing to do with V123? I just wrote and produced this for a local cable channel. The two kids you'll hear at the front are my own kids. Tough to fit it all into a :30.

Whatup Scott,

That was nice copy you wrote there. The boys seem like naturals. One thing though I know you have to fit a lot in a 30 second snipet. The second boys voice seemed a little rushed when saying "going to school". Otherwise it was a nice piece! Good Job

Monday, Monday.....V123 Smartcast has all but killed this off as well. Oh well. Nothing much happening on either site today. Four leads from this site, all not really up my alley. Only one from TOS, wow...shocked. Talked to them via phone today and they said last week was a mad house but seems to have settled down a bit so far.

Later,
Craig

All right... go easy on me... I know this SUCKS already. Sticking my big ass amateur character reading neck out on the line.

SmartCast lead.

Civil War...
1. Plantation owner. (Forgive the "n" word, historical perspective.)
2. Northern lawyer.
3. Walt Whitman.

Thing I like about historical pieces is we don't know what they "really" sounded like....

Colin, I don't know if it's just a matter of interpretation, since we aren't really provided with a hell of a lot of input on these things, but I was under the impression that the lawyer character was actually supposed to be a southerner who was against secession (sort of akin to the Tories in the American Revolution).

May be true Lee. Hell, I don't know. When I think of a civil war lawyer, I thing Boston.

What the hell do I know.

Thsi is what the direction said about that character...

Colin,

Hey, buddy.....know what? You pulled back on the drama this time, and I have to tell you, it made an enormous difference! Great job on all three, really! (I'm jealous---I could have used a Bostonian accent last week for one of many leads that didn't match my profile).

IMHO, you did yourself proud on that one.

Yes, I am.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to gather medicine and supplies for a third-world country. Then I have to put in my time at the soup kitchen, before heading off to the hospital awards banquet where I am being honored as Volunteer of the Year.

Of course! Marilyn, thanks for reminding me! It's just that I get so gosh darned busy sometimes saving the whales and everything.
I do have one slight favor to ask of you, though: Could you please stop being so stunningly beautiful and get out of the v/o biz so I at least have a fighting chance at this?!
