I just responded to the same one over on voices-dot-com, Marilyn. Here's my take.
Your volume is REALLY low on your demo. Not sure why, but man I had to crank it up for a listen.

Thank you SO much, Marilyn! I really appreciate that. And just to really attempt to show some versatility, listen to the hideous thing attached that I just submitted!
Yeah, on your read, I liked the mood and pacing, but it sounded a bit like a mom or school marm talking to me. In this particular instance I'd have wanted to hear you step over closer to a non-smiling, news announcer delivery.

Well, if I had opened this thread before I recorded my audition, I could have saved myself some time at the mic! Oh well. Here's my take anyway!
Marilyn, I didn't think yours was sing-songy. But I'm curious, can you relax your voice out of your nose a little bit? I think that would be a great sound for you!

I liked your read quite a bit, Amy. Don't even begin to short-sell yourself!

I'm going to be editing down my version later this afternoon. GuaranteedPaycheck is taking priority. I'm really impressed (and intimidated!) by the demos already posted, but... dang it, I'm throwing my hat into the ring (if it's still open, later), too!
It was a fun read, but is that script a bit long for a custom demo?

They don't expect the whole script read-- it's just there for your information. Just pick out about :30 and go for it!
Good luck everyone!

(Looks at the dozen or so tracks of the full script read)
Oh. Well... that makes it easier! I've got a vast array of 3 takes per section, so I can pick and choose the best bits! Yay!

Colin, you are SO WELL-SUITED for reads like that! It sounds so comfortable to you. Your tonality, pacing.... it all works. I'd say that I hope you get that one, but I need the work right now!

I think part of it is I like those kind of things. I guess when you like something, you will naturally do better at it. I don't like the sound of the mic I was on there. I am not at home.

I guess this is old news but my feed back:
Amy you sounded good and nailed the read! Warm and clear message.
Scott and Colin loved both, but I felt Scott's was a little warmer, more real feel and Colin, your's sounded like an anchor reading the news, and your voice always sounds good.
Marilyn yes, too sing songy and as I believe Scott said like a local mom talking.
