Please keep in mind...it's been a few years. This is just to test the mic out. Please, any suggestions on equalizing, compression, etc. for the technically challenged. Be brutal. I can handle it. This is just the beginning, and that's how to get better.

Thanks!

Yes, Andy. It's a Blue Snowball. This was recorded in my closet.

I have to admit, that Snowball sounds pretty darn good. I think all I'd do at this point is get a pop screen for it...I heard a few plosive pops, and a few more that were borderline. You can either buy one or stretch a nylon stocking across a hoop of some kind.

Snowball mic--impressive entry with higher end features—has a built in pop filter so you might want to experiment with different capture angles before checking plosives via additional pop filtering which also diminishes the entire signal capture on that…….. just a thought………

Vance,

This recording was made with the mic directly in front. I'll do another take later, moving it to the side. Get ready to laugh...

I have the mic on a shelf, with my hanging clothes on both sides. It actually does pretty well for noise reduction...LOL! I taped the script to the clothes rod above the mic. Whatever it takes, right?

Um, Maxine?

1. Does he have a name?

2. Does he ever answer you?

Maxine ~
Thank you for the suggestions for the mike. I call mine Snow White. She's like part of the family, now. But she thinks she rules the place....
