Wow Colin, I thought you would be all over the production on this one with the organ flourishes and all.

Very nice Scott. Did you use that vinyl plug-in? I tried adding a bit with that but I was afraid they would just think my gear sucked to begin with.

I actually don't have any plug-ins, Erik. Believe it or not, those were actual record scratches. I've been slowly converting my mom's incredible collection of 78 rpm albums to .mp3 (and .wavs) and was able to lift some actual scratches off the records and just extend it.

Man, is that true. A friend of mine sent me that before and I thought it was great. I just emailed her the link to your recording.

Emmanuel,

Thank you for that! So, since I now have Izotope's cool Vinyl plugin, I thought I would play with the old time announcer (Water Saving) as well.

(post edited to add audition audio)

Back up from the mic another foot......add some mid-range and some "slap-back" echo.....and a little crowd noise and you'll have it. Absolutely nothing wrong with the delivery. My opinion....

Fun plug-in, ain't it Bob?

Inspiring Colin, truly inspiring.

I was worried about you for a second with that dry read.

And if you added the "echo" on the voice??? Then you've got an actual live broadcast. Great job Colin!

I absoultely HATE this kind of production..........but their money is as GREEN as anyones. Hurts my pipes. R.J. cursed this and I respect his opinion but trust me.....a person can produce about 3-10 of these a day 5 days a week and it all adds up at aprox. $200 per spot. Get your calulator out & head to the bank.
