Back up from the mic another foot......add some mid-range and some "slap-back" echo.....and a little crowd noise and you'll have it. Absolutely nothing wrong with the delivery. My opinion.... |
Well... Sid... since you asked.... more produciton.... |
And if you added the "echo" on the voice??? Then you've got an actual live broadcast. Great job Colin! |
I tend to disagree but if you insist.... |
But I don't know the background of the script either. To me it's almost perfect....cept the voice is to "clear" ? But that's just me. |

Sid.... that's the battle I am fighting every day. HOW MUCH PRODUCITON DO I GIVE?
I just want to fill the order. As a radio production director that's what I did for 20 years. But then it's "no..... give it to them dry....."
Twist and turn... I'm sick of it. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

I don't know Colin. It's obvious that I'm really into the production and I have the elements. It's just what I've been doing for about as long as you have. Reading "dry" just isn't natural for me except on certain scripts...and a few of those I have landed. I have several monthly accounts that are "Tractor Pull" dry screaming in-your-face "Buy-0r Die" spots and I send them dry. They do the production and it's always top-notch "Pro-Tools" stuff. I hate to be type-cast because I want to be Robert Jadah! |

Sir Sid, I cursed the Seekers. They scurried from TOS to here and must have received 500 auditions, most of them fully produced.
We heard five of them here on DoD and they were excellent.
My objection was to cheap clients who make us collectively jump through hoops like that and keep wanting more. In fact, I wonder how many of those auds they actually listened to.
Your take was outstanding. Your math is solid.
My curse was that these seekers are taking advantage of a system structured to make lemmings of us.
I'm glad if you were the one able to take advantage of them.
I know this kind'a spot is a breeze for you; and an easy buck.
You are, after all, Sir Sid.

You are way too kind Robert. I really mean that. I've just always relied on "Volume" in my VO/Production business and it's worked really well. "Great Product at a Great Price". Please don't consider me a "low-baller". I'll be honest....I charge $175-$225 per 30/60 depending on the client. No secrets here. Then....every once in a while I get a nice national account that last' for a month, 3 months, a year at the most. Also, I have found out that those national accounts WILL pay Union fees regardless of my non-union status. Hell............they don't care! Thanks again. |

You're almost there, Sid. You're the right age and shape.
Now you need only to throw out three-quarters of your customers, swill a daily tsunami of good Canadian beer, buy a green floppy RonT hat, and cut your darn talent-quotient by about half!
Presto! |
