|
|
My custom auditions used to sound awful after uploading to V123. Then, V123 improved our sound quality for us, and for awhile there I thought my auditions sounded pretty clean.
Now they sound like I'm under water again. I thought we were supposed to upload 96kbps, 44100Hz, mono mp3s. No? Did I only think they sounded good for a short while because they sounded so much better than before?
They sound pretty good here on the message board, but not so good when I submit a response to a lead. I always worry that V123 voice seekers will think that my home studio is churning out grotty sound quality.
My auditions always sound clear and clean as can be on TOS, BTW. _________________ www.amysnively.com |

This comment has befuddled me before, Amy, and I cannot hold out any longer.
At what point do they sound muddy? When you play them just before submitting? Or have you heard what the client does, (assuming it's any different)?
Thanks.

Amy,
One thing that I have started to do is in my responses is that I "recommend" they download the audition and play it back instead of using the online player.
I'm saying that because I have seen mixed results from the online players, sometimes good sometimes not. This may not answer your question but I'm saying this as someone who has seen issues as well.
Definitely don't upload at anything other than 44.1K at TOS, the online playback will be at the wrong speed! _________________ Bob

Thank goodness you said something Amy!
I thought I changed my settings and started having arguments with myself again.
The problem has reared its ugly head again and my auditions now are warbly.
I was really sounding good there for a while and almost forgot this problem existed (no, not really...)
ARGGHHH!

Brilliant! Thank you!

Thank you Kathleen! Now I know I'm not losing my mind! Do you think they've reverted back to the way things were before? _________________ www.amysnively.com |

Actually, that's a bit outside of their role as message board mods. I think an email to customer service is in order... _________________ www.amysnively.com |

(I've found customer service to be very responsive and I keep seeing things I've asked for materialize little-by-little. They respond to my questions and comments in a timely fashion and are generally friendly and helpful.) _________________ www.amysnively.com |

Amy, the reason your forum posts sound good is that nothing is done to alter the file on the forum. What you post is what we get. If you post 128k, 44.1, that's what we hear. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

I have emailed customer service. I am usually very disappointed in their responses, but need to follow the right procedure...just in the hopes that they may listen or care.
I am noticing if I reduce my amplification by 75%, the warbling is less (or maybe just less noticeable)
Why would that be?
Otherwise, I do no processing to the file other than removal of pickups and breaths and a standard gate.
The warbling started again on Saturday the 24th. Prior to that, my audio sounded fine. It almost seemed inline with the 1 hour change they just implemented. That can't be connected, can it?
I don't reply to many auditions as it is...so this will diminish me to none until it's corrected. _________________ SaVoa No. 07006 |

Is everyone still having this problem? I just noticed it again on my auditions and it is making me crazy. I asked them if they changed anything over there but I have yet to hear back. I think they are working on it but I wanted to get a better feel of how many folks have experienced it.
When this was happening to me before the upgrade, Freddie and I went over my settings a thousand times and never got it to sound right. Apparently it only happens to some but they couldn't figure out why. |

Everyone I've 'spoken' to is having the same problem. I think they upgraded the sound quality, but then it reverted back to the old settings for some reason. My auditions sound horrible. _________________ www.amysnively.com |
