|

Hello all!
I'm brand new to this forum and voice work in general but after wanting to do this for so many years I'm now taking the plunge. I'm waiting for it to come in but I just recently purchased an Mbox (1) original one ... and a Behringer B1 condenser microphone... I suppose I'll need to use protools. Anyone with any experience have anything good, bad or indifferent to say about his equipment and any pointers that would help me to get my feet off the ground?
Also looking for sources of training to get started... I'm very eager; have a background in singing and stage work .. curious to see how I'm taken at this all ...
Thanks in advance.
God bless! |

Don:
Welcome to the cage match.
Kicking, scratching, fighting, abuse.
But you get to leave it all behind when it's just you, the text, and your mic.
Go to the Geek place, friend, and read more than you've ever wanted to know about mikes and all that other paraphenelia.
Personally, my eyes go crossed and my forehead meets the keyboard when I try to wade through it.
I can only tell you that your basic set-up sounds Good To Go to me.
I've used ProTools, M-Box, an Audio-Technica mic, and a complete absence of technical know-how to actually pay some bills.
It should be plenty for now.

Robert, thanks for the reply... what Geek place are you referring to? I'm also interested in an OK set of cans (headphones) Until I can afford the ones I want.
Good luck to you Robert and God bless!! |

I'm thinking of getting a Marshall V57M mic with schockmount (I have a scissor boom already), an M-Audio MobilePre, and a Raxxess pop shield to start with. Would this be a good combination with Mixcraft or Adobe Audition?
