I was about to post something entitled "Is There an Echo in Here?" because Owlvin Screech is not the first "re-run" we've gotten this week. There was also the "We're Cookin' on the Range" from earlier in the week. I clearly remember both of those from months ago.
And this morning, I received two SmartCast invitations in fairly rapid succession for the same client with the same bit of sample script, looking for two different styles of announcer. I suppose it does make sense for him to keep his "enthusiastic 30-something" auditions separate from his "Pat Summerall type" announcers. But these things make me wonder if the producers of some of these projects really have any idea what they're looking for.
Similarly, there's a seeker over at Voices who posts a fair number of jobs for what seem to be half the golf course developments in Myrtle Beach. I would think that after receiving dozens of auditions for the first project, the seeker could simply select a handful of appropriate candidates and distribute the various assignments among their "stable" of announcers. But for some reason, they do each one individually. Either they are so lacking in imagination that they can't visualize what someone will sound like without hearing the exact words they'll be reading, or they just really love listening to auditions.
And don't even get me started on the people who post the same audition at Voice123 and over at Voices and maybe a few other places, for all I know, and don't even listen to all of them!

Chris... man... beautiful. I'll watch my back. I love how you stretch the "S's" at the end.
Time for a little Rum and Coca-Cola (TOS...)

It's almost happy hour in the Eastern time zone. Maybe I should declare it Bermuda time.

Just listened to all the Christmas Story reads... WOW! So many great interpretations!
But...Thom, if I had to pick just one to play for our family Christmas morning, it would be yours. Something about your pacing and emphasis is absolutely engaging. If you read the whole story, I'd buy it to play every Christmas morning.
