We tend to think after a few days of silence on a submitted audition "oh well... guess I didn't get it". But we're learning more and more nothing could be farther from the truth. The last two jobs I've gotten from voices-dot-com, including the one you'll find below which I landed today, took MONTHS to materialize. This one was so old I didn't have the audition any more. I think I MIGHT have submitted it 5 months ago! I actually asked the client to send it back to me, which he was more than happy to do, so I'd be sure to match the energy level and delivery speed with which I'd auditioned. The client even mentioned that he didn't know how we kept track with all the auditions and the outdated ones anyway.

At any rate, I think we all - including me - need to subscribe to the " Submit it and Forget it" philosophy. Expend that energy on the NEXT audition, not those ones you just sent off.

That’s awesome Scott! Great read!
And I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve completely stopped staring anxiously at my computer screen waiting for that fateful email.
I just do my thing, send it off and move on.

Something very similar happened to me a few weeks ago.
I auditioned for a re-occurring character on an animated training video in August and never heard back from the ad agency. Nothing.
Then four months later, POW! I get a call asking me to voice the re-write and now they want me to voice multiple characters within the series.

It just goes to show you. Anything can happen at anytime.

May I also add that sometimes hearing these stories gives us all a little more hope?!

I've been staring a little too hard at my screen this week, if you know what I mean...'Anxious'

Ha! Thanks James. Right back at ya! I was going to use my Simpsons avatar but I figured this one was funny enough. I think it shows a more “serious” side of me Wink

This is a Simpson "Timeline" of myself.

(Way too much free time)

Hey Steve, I like the avatar too.

For a second there I thought you were Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling.

Wow, way to threadjack here. Nice job Scott!

Way to go Scott. I don't think I could even audition for a script that dull. Good job! You got more diligence than I do.
