Hello everyone,

I've dreamed of getting into voiceover work for years and today I'm finally getting off my butt and beginning. So far I've registered here and filled out my profile but have yet to post any demos. I'm thankful there's this forum to share experiences and knowledge.

I just glanced at the advice for newbies and rest assured I'm not just someone who've been told they should be in radio (though I have) or can do funny impressions. I actually already have a good deal of background experience to get me started.

Hi Nancy, welcome aboard!

Read over your bio. Just a couple things;

Get rid of the "I was once told". When any sentence starts with "I am told", "people always tell me", etc, it's always followed by "that I have a great voice", and screams amateur with no experience.
Also, the line "I'm new but give me a chance", delete that right away. It's just not a good idea.

Being humble is not a good idea in this industry. You are great. You can give any read anyone needs. It is a mistake not to hire you. Now, I have never met you before and don't know anything about you, but if you had what I wrote, I would be more interested than if I read what you have now.
