ok, they wanted : "Voice should be dry, matter-of-fact - yet likeable (think Jenine Garafalo.) Someone who delivers the message, not overpowers it. Definitely not a slick silver-tongued announcer. "

Colin...great read, hun. Your voice was meant to sell trucks like that. Really, really well done _________________ Life is short but sweet, for certain

What you delivered, September, was exactly, dead-on, bull's eye what the directions called for.
You also added sweet.
I'm hoping they were looking 20 to 30. You didn't sound a wave-length over 22.
(And that was from a whole other site, wasn't it? Almost another planet. I saw it, so I know it was neither here nor there, if you know what I mean.)
And that was a quintessential truck spot, Mr. C. Not a darn thing wrong with that.

thanks Robert! and, yes, it was from another planet, though I just saw the lead get posted here....FOR $175 LESS!! Very interesting
also found out I'm in the 10 finalists for a new TV station branding , Penthouse HD. below is my first audition that got me the call back and then the call back audition that follows the clients instructions to speed up the reads and only deliver with natural sexiness, no breathy read or extra emphasis on certain words in the script. If I get this, it will be fun

September:
I agree with Robert, you delivered just what they asked for. I hope they pick you.
Too much, Not enough or Just enough is always hard to judge, at least for my reads any way.
"Looking for male voice that is friendly, smart, good humored; not a barker!" was the instruction.
I was actually too late to submit for this one (Sharper Image) but I thought I'd get some usage out of it and run it by the forum for constructive critique.

David...I really dug that read. Nice, natural pauses and it didn't sound too much like a script...and the script was very well-written! Good job! _________________ Life is short but sweet, for certain

Nice job September!! I got the V123 lead on that rather late tonight, so I haven't been able to send an audition. After listening to yours, I'm intimidated.
Colin and Dave: Great work, both of you!! Colin, you can sell me a '76 beat up pick up truck with 150K miles. Dave, ITA with September...great pacing and smooth delivery.

David -- Nice job on the Sharper Image. I got mine in just under the wire.
And here's one I submitted for the South Dakota Lottery. They asked for 100 demos and so far have gotten 26 and haven't listened to any of them. They never seem to listen to more than 2/3 of the demos they ask for. BTW, it's supposed to be a guy seeing a flaming fireball falling from the sky and they asked for it to be over the top.
