Wow, sometimes after what seems like forever, stuff starts falling into place...
There was a bunch of leads on TOS for a mobile adaptation of a web comic, LA-only talent please...I respectfully auditioned anyway with a notation that I could definitely fulfill their needs from here, they were reaching so many good people that could potentially be right for them. (Ballsy and tricky I know, but I figured what the heck, they could always skip it anyway) Incredibly I got the gig for one of the characters, but then it turned out they didn't read my proposal notes and thought I was in LA! So it appeared the gig went byebye, being that they were beholden to the MTV gods (this is for MTV Mobile) as to how they produce sessions. So I came out of it feeling good that at least I proved that I was good enough to compete out there, gig or no gig in this case.
They came back to me after the holidays saying how much they liked my audition read (creepy closet psycho science teacher) and that they'd like to try n get it put thru the big guys to use me remotely for the project. I just now got their email saying they were thrilled to be able to have me on the project, and predicting I'd get the part in one take! (I won't go THAT far ) So I'll record my part here and email/YouSendIt/whatever to LA, then I'll be in 3 episodes of this mobile comic for MTV! Not a huge money job, but something quite good for the resume! And for the soul too I guess. Thankful. _________________ Chris Mezzolesta

That's very, very cool, Chris! And a good moral to this story is to take chances (if you're good enough to pull it off). They want local in L.A. or NY and you're not there? So what?! Send the audition anyway and tell 'em to get with the times! This ain't the 80's anymore!
Good for you, Buddy! _________________ Scott R. Pollak
