I just auditioned for a whole ton of stuff on another website, but I'm not sure how to search for any here... guess I might have to become a real member? lol. Anyway, let me know what you all think. I did take acting lessons and voice classes, but I was too busy to think about this being a career until now.
The demos on my site were taken from mock scripts and royalty-free music. I will attach some files here however, of some auditions I did (no effects on them of course).
Thanks,
Cal

No one responded yet.... I will.
Cal, I took a listen to a couple of em, and....umm what kind of mic are you using? It ummm doesn't sound good to me. (my opinion) How are you getting your sound into your PC?
Maybe visit the Geek category for some help?

Hey, Cal...welcome to the shark tank.
First of all, kudos on the cajones to burst onto the scene with a bang: from zero auds to an auditory strafing.
You'll never get much reaction, however, in posting that many clips at a time. Some of us have lives, careers and Mooseheads to deal with, and just won't listen to the whole compendium.
I listened to parts of three, Cal, and you've got a long way to go. This is no kiddy ride; there are exceptional talents around here. Your major problem is probably the sound quality itself. I'm no tech guru, but you sound muffled and boxed-in, and your plosives are popping like hand grenades.
Potential clients will not last beyond the five-second mark.
First, post your recording chain here. Let us know what you're working with.
Then put it all in a Glad bag and bury it in the back yard. Sell the house, and move to another zip code. Read the advice here, follow up, regroup, and come back with a better sound.
Oh...and get used to criticism. It's about 92.5% of the game.
Now get to it.
Voice On!

Cal, you also need to listen honestly and compare yourself to pros you hear at all levels. You may be a great actor, but it's not coming through on the auditions you've posted here. Not at all.
Mr. J.! You're on a critique-ing binge today, eh? And even more straightforward than usual! Love it. Have you stopped drinking? Or is it just too early in the day? Tsk, tsk. Stay warm!

Okay, I've never been this blunt before, but I guess there's always a first time.
Cal, you might be the nicest guy on the planet and one hell of an actor, but based on what I heard here, you won't make it in voice over. What you posted ain't good. It's not just the poor audio quality, it's just not delivered well.
This may not be the direction you want to go.
Sorry to be harsh, but this is the reaction from a guy who's been doing this for 35+ years now.
