I reckon I won't be posting here any longer (I expire at midnight; leastways, my V123 subscription does).
As I raved on another thread last night, the Seekers are driving me to more professional venues.
I only just noticed that this three-week old aud at (also expired) TOS has been summarily Closed.
For a computer game, they asked for a "lunatic commander; alternating between lucidity and madness. A little scary. Would like a raspy edge."
Now, I know we can't win 'em all, but when you deliver what the director envisions in the real audition world, you get a valuable 'Thank You', a tap on the back, and - frequently - a call-back.
It's working in the site world vacuum that mostly disturbs me.

Robert:
If you decide to leave the V123 community, know that you will be missed.
Good luck in your pursuits.

Thank you, Dave.
But I'm leaving V123; not Savvy.
Every time I disappear for a while, everybody gets all fawning and nice and sweet about each other's postings.
Can't let that happen.
Vilely On!

Robert:
Good to hear the forum will be keeping it's edge!
BTW, I decided not to make that last little change in my commercial demo, but thank you for the other ideas, a tremendous help.

Robert...you did a good job finding that mad angry voice....but there were too many pauses. Like the one before "Take what you can!"
I'm looking for some music for my socially challenged Witch in need of a date. Also the sound of something brewing or bubbling in a pot would be great. If anyone is here. ? This thread seems really dead lately.

Oh, come on Colin. After all, I've posted wimpy little car ads for you to roll over.
(edited to add that He did put 'er up!)
And actually, Deby, my pauses were probably not long enough, since each burst was supposed to be a different sound clip.
But thanks.
(PS: Did you ever hear back from our suspicious friends? PM me if you'd rather. I e-mailed them a note to signal "my complete loss of interest" a week ago.)

Well Robert's was slow all the time
Colin....yours is too quick all the time. You need more pauses like perhaps before "burn it all" as if you were going to say burn this burn that, but then decided to say "Burn it all!" You did however capture a nice drill sargent tone though.
Again if you melded the two reads you would have a perfect read.
Robert. I have not heard back from the people in India....who at first wanted a cartoon and then decided they wanted a radio play.....
I guess no one has any music for my witch?

Dave --
You know you're wonderful at most things, Dave -- but this is just not YOU. The vocal quality of your voice is just too light for this heavy villain -- it's that same quality that gives your other reads their natural, casual warmth -- and there's plenty of call for those.
Colin --
Yours did seem a bit rushed, but very lunatic. Deeper voice might have worked better, and you certainly have that.
Robert has this one -- deep, mad, medieval, and well paced.

Diane-
My wife concurs... and so does the seeker apparently.
I like to try things outside of my niche every once in awhile. Thanks for the blend of kindness and constructive criticism.

Dave! Nice to see you get out of your zone and try to "act."
Thanks for all the constructive comments... all.
Good stuff. Reminds me of the Savvy of the old days.

The seeker was looking for lunatic... I thought the commander might get some joy from the destruction and death... hence, the "smile".
Colin,
Thanks, man. Always hoping to stretch and learn and grow as a talent.
By the way, (as I've mentioned on other threads):
1. Thanks for the suggestion on the SONY cans... good call. Got 'em. Love 'em.
2. Got the Fasttrack Pro up and running (finally) and it seems to have cured the high frequency issue. You are a wise man!
