Anyway, I'm not sure if Penny and James have forgiven me for going AWOL from the Q&A to shoot high powered weaponry with DB Cooper. Honestly, I didn't know I was supposed to be on the Q&A as well!

Did they make you refund the appearance fee?

Thanks Colin. Yah, it is pricey for what it is. Maybe I'll find one on eBay. THANKS for the closeup!

If you have four leftover pices of wood, you can build one easily for free - I did. Didn't even bother to paint it.

No they didn't, bless 'em. Though I do still feel a tad guilty for it. Still, the firing range was a legit bit of research for video game work...honest.

Mind you, no guns in the video game job I've got lined up next week. A lot of bloody big swords though Very Happy . Should be fun.

OK, threadjack over.

Fair enough. Back to the plot. Below is the view the VOA gets when sitting in my Voice Over booth. When wearing the headphones they are not able to view them because the human ears are behind the eyes. Beneath the rather fetching green material is rather unfetching nuclear impact resistant , dreary battleship grey accoustic/sound proofing "Stuff". It keeps the noise out and the room dead but also zaps the will to live from anyone who sits (standing optional) in there for more than 15 minutes.

John,
definately the right "bat-cave atmosphere" there Very Happy
I see you have a Focusrite Voicemaster - I think you should use that instead of that dreadful Manley..... Wink
Oh, and I see we have the same patchbay! (I don't use mine either, but it looks awfully "pro", don't it?)

I think I'll build a little cubbyhole over in that corner. I've got a couple of Auralex squares and a whole lotta duct tape.

I just moved into my new home a month or so ago so I am seriously lacking decoration.

This is my first studio I've ever set up so please excuse the newbiness. Smile.

I ripped out the shelving in the closet and converted into my ghetto recording booth. It actually works pretty well I must say.

Please forgive me for the poor photo quality. My camera recently broke so I had to use my cell phone Sad.

different shot of the rest of the office

Full shot of my full desk setup.

my Mackie Onyx Satellite firewire audio interface Smile

Wire/cable management cover from my desk to the recording booth

Outside of the closet where I setup the recording booth. That is the back/outside of the booth. The closet door is closed once you enter the booth Smile

Floor/entrance to recording booth

Tripod adjustable mic stand, audio technica AT-2020 condenser mic, nady pop filter, sony MDR-7506 pro headphones, Mogami cabling.

The Library Control Bridge...and Audio Closet!

I used to have a studio and booth downstairs, but with our new little bundle of joy at home, the upstairs is downstairs and the downstairs is upstairs. I like it better this way. It's more casual. Being around lots of good books and Hawaiian shirts helps the delivery. The stuffed Black Bear and Bobby Orr autographed photo is for inspiration I guess. I monitor in mono since I don't do imagining.

I already posted these in my "relocation-thread" but this thread is where they gather the most interest, I guess Cool

My new facilities in Sweden. Right next to the "Editing Suite" is my new favorite project: my vo-booth! So cool to finally have one.
