Hey guys! I typically don't post much in this section- but I have a project I am really excited about...and one that I got last year from V123!

It is a new project for Highlights Magazine (remember, the one we all read as kids?).

It's called Ask Arizona- Arizona is a 12 year old girl that answers questions from her readers with a little story of her own. It's been a staple in the magazine for quite some time, and I was asked to turn the story into a monthly podcast. I get to do a wide variety of voices (mom, dad, grandma, siblings. friends, etc) all from the perspective of Arizona. I also do all of the production (a first for me for a project of this magnitude).

The first episode is finally online!! I especially wanted to post it because you will notice 3 wonderful kid's voices in the intro to the podcast.

That would be David Souer (Bob's boy), and Olivia and Samantha Haymond (Brian's girls)!! I am so proud of them, and thankful they were able to help out!

OK- no more gushing...I'm just excited Laughing Here's the link to the Arizona Zone:

It's the very first episode, and I think they are only getting better as we all settle in and know what to expect. A new one should be posted each month!

(And yes, I also posted this at the VO-BB for those that check out both boards Very Happy )

Kara

I really liked the vibe of that piece...my sons are avid Highlights readers and I'm excited to tell them I know who "Arizona" is!

You were terrific!!

Way to go!!

Thanks guys!! I have honestly had a blast working on these podcasts. The March episode is my favorite yet, that's when I really felt like I was in a groove with the character. (It should be posted in a couple of weeks)

I've been given free reign to do as I wish with each episode, and then several editors fine tune things (for example, the voice I originally give a character may change, etc). So, in the end it is a collaborative effort. I love the sound FX, it's so fun to play with them! I try to create a bit of theatre of the mind without taking away from the simplicity of the story. It's nice to hear that it is coming across that way!!

Again, thanks for the kind words!!

I appologize for bringing back an old thread. I have a couple of new episodes online now, and I would love to have any feedback on the production aspect of the podcasts! (particularly March's episode)

I've produced audio for 10 years, but I haven't done anything quite like this. It's a blast- but I want to make sure it sounds cohesive, entertaining, and not over-or-under-produced (this is for young children up to age 12 or so). Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
