Did the Amana gig yesterday plus another Zipit Wireless script last friday... It's raining!

I was wondering when I'd have a week like some of you other guys and gals!

Simon: you deserve it! You're an extremely talented young voice who only has to carve your niche AND have the clients who need a voice like yours find you. This is the beginning of a lot more, I'll bet. Post some of the stuff so we can enjoy it.

Way to go, bro!!!

Congrats Simon!!!

Hey, let's hear your Amana gig! I auditioned for that... I'd love to hear what they went with. I didn't realize they were searching both guys and gals.

Congrats again!!!!! Well deserved!

Big time kudos to you on those! Of course, I wish I got em, but it's good to know those who do. Nice job man!

Cheers,
Cameron

Thanks you guys!

What's interesting about this Amana gig is that I almost didn't audition for it. Why? Well because the night it came to my inbox I was staying at a friends house and had no access to my equipment. Though, the project description I felt suited me so well that I decided to take one of the last audition spots (I think it had a maximum of 70) and send in a custom demo from a previous gig that I'd got the gig for that was similar to this one.

And here is what I said:
Dear client,
I couldn't pass this opportunity up because I am so well suited for this project. However at this moment I will not have access to my studio until tommorow to actually record a custom demo. And if I waited until tommorow this audition would have it's maximum applicants and you would have no way of hearing me. Please accept my humble apology but hopefully you would agree that I am suited for this project. The custom audition you are hearing is one I did for a recently booked website tutorial. It only makes sense to put in a winning audition if I can't actually get a read of your script to you. Please contact me through here whenever possible and I will get a custom read of your script done and sent to your e-mail. Thanks, Simon

simon_voice123@yahoo.ca

The client e-mailed me the next day and after doing 2 custom demos and a couple of subsequent conversations she told me she was hoping that her client would pick me, right from the beginning. So I wonder, would I be inclined to submit myself this way again? I think so, if I absolutely feel I am 110% qualified and ready to go above and beyond for the client, I will. So maybe for anyone else out there who at some point may not have access to your studio, this may help you relax! But always use discretion right! You wouldn't want to get 1 star.

And this is the project description:
VOICE MUST SOUND YOUNG and HIP!! This is essential! VOICE WITH AN EDGE is also a plus - gravelly or unique, interesting. This is an appliance brand, whose image is Young, Fun, Hip. Their target audience is Generation Y, young people who would rather focus on other things than worry about laundry or doing dishes. Video that corresponds with this is very edgy, fun, and fresh. They are trying to build a lifestyle brand and will target YouTube and other unconventional ways to reach their target audience
