Hi Mark.
I'm not. I don't.

(Pretty terse, aren't you? As a voice guy, you may want to be a little chattier. And please take that stuff off your V123 page. Please.)

Jadah, that was one of the funniest things you have ever posted.

Welcome to Savvy Mark.

Well, Mark, since you asked: I meant THE DEMOS.

Not only will those audio horrors not get you work, they could conceivably set the entire craft back to pre-Marconi days.

Since you're still with us, you display the resilience and thick skin that may comprise 50% of this game. Now go listen to the demos of, oh, Philip Banks, Simon Hill, Dave DeAndrea, and Erik Sheppard.
Use the Data Base. Type in those names.

These are the talents you are competing with.
Do not put one recorded word on your V123 profile until it sounds half as good as theirs.
You only get one chance to make that first impression. As it stands, your name would be sky-written across continents as absolutely not hireable.
Ever.

(You will thank me some day).

Voice On!

Hi Mark,
First of all Welcome.....You sound just like my x-fiance. You do need a longer script and a music bed under it. Robert was rather rude about it...but he did give you some good advise. Good luck mate!

I can not change how I sound. Yes I can try using a better way to record my voice.

No Mark,
I'm not talking about what you should write on your resume...(Although you need more there too) I'm talking about the script you read on your demo.

example....You have called outside of our normal business hours from 9-5.......or Please press 1 for customer service. Please press 2 for a list of our services. Please press 3 to access your account balance....

This is a crappy example.....IVR is not my speciality.....but hopefully you get the idea.

Mark - Yes you can change the way you sound!- but first you need to know what good is... then, if you have the passion and drive - take some classes - Steve Hudson teaches his PSR course in London

Go to VoiceBank.net and listen to the house reels. These are the people you are competing with... along with Deby, Robert, Erik, Scott, Dave, Simon, Myself, and thousands of others -

And for a very good fellow Brit - listen to Philip Banks
