Now, Colin -- you are not going to bring your grammar hang ups into this thread, too, are you?

"He did The Mash"....
He did The Monster Mash.......
(instructions) We need a voice with the same quality, style and timing ability as Boris Karloff when he narrated "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"
The script needs to be read with that poetic, inflection-rich quality all Doctor Seuss shows were narrated with - but especially the Grinch show.
Kent, I think you might have been a bit too salesy, with your attempt. I went more for the character. Of course, the seeker decides what they like!

It's not the grammar.

I think Kent's "Fluent" read was very Dr. Seuss-ish, and the way I would want it if I were in charge. But I opted to do it more like David because they asked for a "Boris Karloff style and timing."
Here's mine. (I didn't read the whole thing, although I liked it too.)

Liked your character approach, David and Lee.
David, you may have dropped out of it here and there -- it's tough to sustain throughout. I also think it needed more basso voce to pull it off. But lovely delivery, well inflected.
Lee -- yours was delightful, though I think slowing it down more, and a little bit bigger, as if reading to children, might have made it a home run.
Scott -- just listened to yours. Now, I spent some years reading Dr. Seuss books to young kids, and there's a definite sound that makes it sing. I'm afraid it's not what you delivered here, with too much Southern showing in it. I don't think it's in your wheel box.
(And, Colin -- are you perhaps then implying that Scott is not down with the street lingo!?! )

Jacob, love your slate, bra. I auditioned for the east coast, gulf coast, and the announcer on the "Go Coastal" lead but figured I'd leave the west coast up to someone hipper. I have half a mind to cut that part and then assemble the whole thing, just for fun. I sure hope they don't think they're going to end up with a 60 second commercial. It's going to be at least 90 and maybe even 2 mintues when all is said and done.

| Yeah Lee. Exactly. I'm not sure how they are going to assemble that "Joes" commercial either. After seeing all their invitations I'm beginning to wonder or if it is even a commercial at all. I'll have to look at the lead again.

Turns out those accents are going to be part of an online quiz.
