Here's an audition for a corporate presentation for Gavena coffee sold through McDonald's

Did anybody else try this one. I'd like to compare.

BTW/Kent:

I liked you tutor character very much. Just enough whimsey. I hope you get that job.

David, I did that one and got a rating higher than the average. I have mixed feelings about yours to be honest. I LOVE your voice, and I think the energy level is about right. But you had some really awkward pauses between phrases that I think you should have either re-voiced or at least edited out before submitting.

Here's mine, for whatever it's worth.

I wasn't going to post this because I think it's fairly ordinary, but since you asked for a comparison, here's my coffee presentation. It got me 4 stars but so far no business.

On the other hand, I was pretty pleased with this demo for Hershey. Also 4 stars and as yet no contact from the client.

Lee:

I'm pretty sure Scott was right about the pauses in my Coffee presentation as what held me back on it. I came in below the average and both you and he were above, both on par with each other to my ear.

Your Hershey Baseball character was well animated and engaging except that it may have been a bit too fast for his age, which I'd estimate to be 80 to 90 years old. You got a 4 and haven't heard from them. Not surprising. How many 5s have you earned that went nowhere? I'm still waiting to hear something from my Boris Karloff/Grinch read that I got me a 5 (2.9 Average) Silence there as well.

Sometimes I think we may as well be shouting into Grand Canyon. At least you get an echo once in a while. Rolling Eyes

David, well done on the Grinch, btw - it deserved a 5.

Today was Documentary Day it seemed. Two cool projects. First was opened/unrated. I'll share the second, as there's still some hope! Here's to opened/rated/and moved to call!

A King David biography.

Kent:

Thanks for the kind words on the Grinch.

Your King David was 'Like Buttah'. Saw the lead in my box, and then the Yiddish terms and went, "Uh Oh" and dropped it. If I heard them pronounced I could repeat them. Yours sounded authentic anyway.

Kent, did you see that the King David (which I gleefully submitted to) has been replaced?

That was the lead to which I referred in a post in another thread. I saw a lead that had only 4 responses out of 100 requested and started licking my chops. It wasn't until after I'd recorded my demo that I noticed the lead had been replaced. I came here to the forum and whined about not immediately getting the replacement, and then I did get it in time to be the second person to submit. It was opened but not rated while there was an average rating, which is usually not a good sign (although I have gotten a job in that circumstance). And Kent did a really nice job with it.

Just for comparison, here's mine.

I missed the chance I had to do this one, so it's just for fun and comparison to yours....the Hershey Baseball Character

Scott, I see the seeker originally asked the talent to: "Write the copy AND Deliver edited and finished voice tracks." The new project has their production company writing the copy (whew!) and leaving the voicing alone to the talent. I think it was just an oversight they quickly corrected.

Here's a couple from me if anyone wants to play.

Coming from an alcoholic family, this should've been easy for me to pull off. Apparently I short changed myself... and looking back, I was rushing to get it done b/c I think they were only taking 10 auditions. Got 4 stars. But I'll take it.

And, I did get a great rating on my bank character. No phone call yet, but I have no doubt they'll call (said tongue in cheek). Again, I'm happy for the rating. I'll take it.

Caryn

I liked your PSA Dinner--sounded very real to me. No wonder they liked it!

The paper cut ad was funny!! Somehow, I wanted a little more mock-seriousness to really make it tongue-in-cheek, but that's just my opinion...

My ratings have been all over the map, so I'm trying to ignore them and keep going...

Wink
