I like your variety, your voice and the arrangement. That moves pretty well...found myself wishing there was more. (leave it that way!) I think I heard ...maybe a couple of words ... that were just the teensiest bit slurry, but I'm not sure. Maybe my ears are slurry. |

Melba,
Your response was swift and gracious. I majored in "slurry" in VO college and you picked-up on that. What an ear...not slurried at all.
If you ever have the inkling or time...what would that "more"likely be.
No response mandated.
Thanks again, I value your opinion.

| I didn't clarify what I meant by "wishing there was more". It's not that I found it too short or lacking...on the contrary, your voice is engaging enough (to me, at least ) to make me NOT think "oh geesh get the demo over already." That's good, yeah! |

Roger I only listened to the narrative one. It sounds homemade which means it does not sound real. When you don't have something that sounds real. It makes you look like the Freshman in the class of Seniors. It's not that it totally sucks or anything. It just makes me yawn.
To be honest I was more impressed with you music beds than I was with the demos in general. Find a studio that specializes in making quality voice-over demos. It's worth the money. At this site I'm not even sure it matters though. The custom demo is what they most want to hear.

| I only listened to the narrative as well and the problem for me was the editing and construction. Your narrative demo spots were too short for the most part. the purpose of a narrative demo is to showcase your ability to sustain interest for more than a 10-12 second read.. |

Deby and Lee,
Thanks for your honest critiques. Valid remarks which I've heard elsewhere too. I shall do some correcting with the Narration Demo.
I'd be grateful for for similar remarks on the Commercial Demo, if and when you have time.
As far as a professionally done demo goes, I'll have to wait until my ship comes in and struggle with home-made versions for the time being,
Thanks again,

to be perfectly honest, I would address your voice acting skill before I would be concerned about the production, quality or lack thereof..
your reads came off way too announcery and "radio" for my tastes..as a result, I wasn't feeling a connection as a listener. the only spot that kind of worked for me was the "cats' spot, only because it seemed like it was working as sort of a parody of the " announcer", which I'm sure wasn't intentional on your part
conversational, real people, natural one-on-one reads are where its at these days. |
