Can't recall if this came from this site or elsewhere, but the client just posted a link for me to see the finished product. Not terribly exciting, but it paid a few bills and the client was very happy and very nice to work with.

Congradulations Scott. I'm not at all surprized you landed this one. Question though: How did you find out how to pronounce the business name? Did you come right out and ask the client before you auditioned? Did you research them first, then call to hear how they answered the phone?

I see business names frequently and ask myself, "How do you pronouce that?" Anonymously, I'll call the company to hear how they answer the phone it from there. I just want to know what's your advice on a situation like this.

Hope you were able to get a few tanks of gas with this job!

TTYL Allison

If I recall correctly, the company name was not part of the script they supplied for the audition. But you bring up an interesting point. I wish the seekers would supply a pronunciation guide if the way to say their name (or any other proper name used in the demo script) is not obvious or widely known.

I simply asked them, Allison.

I'm getting ready to read an 11-12 minute script today that has a number of unusual Jewish pronunciations in it (I seem to keep getting these!) and will be calling the client this morning to go over phonetics of the pronunciation before I record.

When in doubt: ask!

Which, of course, you can only do after you have gotten the gig. We don't want to be contacting voice seekers before we are hired. That would be unscrupulous. Rolling Eyes

Hey Scott...really nice read there. As is with many of your files I've heard lately. You guys & gals are really a talented bunch!
I haven't posted much, but am feeling my way around pretty easily now...so you'll probably hear more from me.

BTW...I noticed that your voice bears a STRIKING resemblance to President Bush in this narration. Same tone and pitch.

Anyone ELSE notice??? Take a re-listen. !!! Laughing
