On the far left, a standard broadcast console. Then NexGen radio automation. More to the right.... Adobe Auditon 3.0 with a Mackie Control Universal Pro controller. Pretty much modernized to my specifications. Studio #20 at CC Columbus. Sorry for the quality... cell phone pic...

Not much to showcase in these photos, but here they are:

That's rapper FAT JOE and I last yr. In the backround, you can see Scotts Studios on the screen and an ancient way to answer the phones. Notice the lame sign with the station name & dial position? That's for the part timers who tend to forget where they work. Laughing

Look on the left. That's an actual reel to reel we were using up until two yrs ago! We finally had another computer installed and now use VOX PRO for incoming calls/contests and so forth.

Ahhh... good ole' reel-to-reel. We've had them gone since 2003. We have one machine tucked into a seldom used studio in case someone has a tape they want dubbed. Usually though the tape is so gummed up as to be unusable. I have some big reels of sfuff I did in the 80's and 90's that just feel like they've turned to glue.

The machines I worked for years....

Oh Lordy Colin!! That machine takes me back to college.

I can't believe we survived the days of tape and razor blades. What's really scary? We had to use that good ol tape & razor blade stuff while we were on the air! Editing softwear is my knight in shining armor. Unfortunately, the copy writers also know that so they feel they have the right to give you 400 words for a :60 script.

As technology gets better, the scripts get worse.

Remind me to take photos this week of the rest of my job site.

It's a wonder we didn't use those razor blades to meet our maker.

That machine is way too new to have been around when I was in college. We used the trusty old Ampex 350.

Geez Colin, you have nothing on the walls at your studio? At least I have little stickie notes up to remind me what my various internet passwords are!

Here is a photo of the old auditronics console that we just ripped out of our station. YIKES!! Confused

Yeah, I should put something on the walls. But, I have all my passwords in a Word document.
