I have a client who, for the past two years, has volunteered to write and produce a comedy review at his kids' school. It's mostly a live stage show put on by the students but it's interspersed with some pre-recorded bits. My client asked me to voice some of that comedy material.
Some of you may remember the spoof commercial "Pointed Stick" that I posted last year. (If you do, your mind must be a repository for incredibly large volumes of useless information.)
Here, for your listening and viewing pleasure, is a piece from this year's extravaganza:

Seems to me, Lee, that this should be an advertisement for all pro voicing.
By your voice and delivery, you brought a fairly amateur (albeit droll) piece and made it 477% better.
Or thereabouts.

I'm sure those Crazy Eddie spots were at least partially the inspiration for this spoof and, in fact, I originally read the script in a more Crazy Eddie-like style but Dave (the writer/creator) asked me to re-cut it in my traditional "Announcer Man" voice that I used for most of last year's production (including the Pointed Stick spot) as well as the rest of this year's show.
And thanks to all for the kind words. I must reiterate that I had nothing to do with the writing, editing, graphics, or any other aspect of this production other than reading the VO script that was supplied to me.

Totally awesome Lee. You've got a heart of gold and a voice that makes me crave my old HASBRO games.
Next time you're near the toy department of your favorite store, look for Monopoly Town and press down the head of Mr. Monopoly riding in his car on the front of the package for a little sample of my Hasbro voice. Tomorrow I get to do a VO for Lego. There was a time that that would really have jazzed my nephew, but he's 13 now and will be only mildly impressed, if at all. _________________ For more voice over demos, my life story, and other foolishness, please visit my website at www.leegordonproductions.com
