Hey All!
Thanks for stopping to take a listen. I recently cut and produced a club ad. It's not technically Imaging, but since it's fully produced, do you think I can get away with putting it in my VO/Imaging Demo?
Is it too typical club commercial?
Thanks for your help!

| It's a :30 ad for a local club, so it's a little speedy at times, but I think its good overall. However, should I put it in my demo? |

Brook,
Take my reply with a ton of salt since I'm so NOT into imaging and particularly club imaging... so wait to hear back from all the young studs that live and breathe this stuff... but personally I like it. If you have a demo that includes imaging I'd sure consider using a snippet of this.

Brooke,
I hear & produce ads like this all the time and I really like yours, ALOT! Excellent production. Pieces of this spot can definately be used for imaging. It yells major market.
Good Luck!

I'll agree with Allisson that there are pieces that are dead on. Like when "club synergy" is repeated between main parts. However with the main parts, watch your inflection. The trend in imaging like this is deadpan. Monotone, no emotion, too cool for school. Listen to KIIS FM in LA (Ryan Seacrest's station). Their female imaging is a good learning tool.
Other than that though, nice! You've got talent!

Lucas, you make a good point about KIIS/LA, but be careful about that. Kelly (their imaging director) sounds like that for a reason: the station is in LA and needs to reflect that hipper-than-thou attitude. In certain markets, however, that attitude would be a turnoff to listeners. Would it be a good idea to include an example or two of that type of delivery in a female imaging demo? Yes, just to show that you can pull it off if that's what the PD really wants. But I've heard too many demos where that's the only read given because they think that that's the only read that sells in imaging these days. And I personally think that, while a lot of stations are still imitating what they hear coming out of LA, the smarter ones are starting to realize that's not necessarily what their listeners want. The overly filtered read is becoming less and less prevalent than it was a couple years ago, and I see the same thing happening with the monotone too-hip female read.
