I met VO Planet/Voicecasting's Donna and Michelle Summer at Bob Bergen's animation VO workshop a few months ago in Atlanta. They were both pleasant and friendly, and Donna and I discovered we live so close we're practically neighbors.

I didn't even have a demo to submit to them, and yet Michelle was thoughtful enough to send me two auditions for local ATL VO gigs just within the first couple weeks after I met them.

I didn't get the jobs, but I never expect much from auditions anyway. (I just do my best and move on. If I get the gig, great. If not, life goes on.)

Michelle and Donna have both said they would love to have me join their talent pool permanently once my demo's done (which should be any day now).

And Chris, since you asked--No, I have not gotten a lead from them since early April. But since I was surprised they sent me anything at all when I wasn't even a member, it has not been any big deal to me that they haven't sent any others.

September, by your post I'm guessing you're back from LA now?

I'd invite you to see the dinner theater comedy show I've been doing (I play a Frank Sinatra-style crooner). It's changed venues and is now at Anthony's near Buckhead. I can't do any comp tickets, but I might be able to at least get you a discount on a couple. PM me if you'd like to go--it's a fun show, even if I wasn't involved with it.

No, not back from L.A. ....I have yet to leave. My roomie situation got blown away fso I'm waiting on Claire Dodin's visa to come through and we'll be heading out together.

Hmmm... with all of these testimonials, I'm wondering why they didn't call me back or return my email?

My feelings are hurt.

I would even still consider signing up with them.

Oh well, if I get time, perhaps I'll persue it some more.

Dont be hurt Chicky! Not to excuse them or anything, but I know Michelle mostly runs the website and she was out of town for a good long stretch a month or so ago. If you contacted her then, it just might have slipped through the cracks. I think she'd love to have you! Smile
