(I think you guys are being too hard on this guy. Sure, he came on pretty strong-- a bit too strong for someone with a low post-count. But he was just trying to put his best foot forward and he is offering a service can be valuable to people who don't have the appropriate, expensive software for tricky IVR jobs.

Let's all give him a chance. He seems like a nice guy, so let's treat him like one. Until and unless he turns out to be a jerk. At which time, you can all smack him with your pop filters.)

Ok, what we are going to do is very simple, we are opening a poll on the general chit chat to gather some opinions regarding solicitation on the site.
The results of this poll will help us take the decision on what needs to be done.

Our main concern is to keep the sense of community in the forums and still provide this water cooler (as Robert calls it).
