I know you didn't, Tom; I'm just kvetching.
'Cuz it ain't really going to change much.
The point is that talent drifted to V123 because it was working so well. But it's going to drift away when it isn't.
And imagine the hue and cry when 2.0 comes out and I'm SmartCast to only answer calls for "deep-voiced Canadians with a warm-sing-song delivery and generally high quotes."
I'll still be kvetching.
Ramble On!

I know I will be grumbling when that happens!

Gordon, I feel your pain, but I'm still wondering exactly what criteria to use even to try to determine what's "right" for me. Granted, I'm a newbie to V123, but it seems to me that the filters they're using are either non-existent or so broad as to be useless, and I end up still wading through every lead that comes through to see which ones are anything remotely related to what I feel I can realistically handle. I don't have a whole lotta faith that it's going to improve a whole lot.

I end up kind of "cheating" on some of these lead listings and just sort of scanning for any keyword I can glom onto. "Oh, they're looking for warm and friendly, nice warm bass-baritone but not announcer-ish? What have I got in the can already that comes close to that?" And then I just ship that one out pretty much w/o regard to content, unless it's something that really seems to cry out for custom (which I will do for Spanish-language reads, so they can hear my accent and decide if it's the regional sound they want).

And gawd forbid you should actually take the time for just a bit of noise sampling and suppression on a custom demo --- that'll take you into the 80's, right there!

So exactly what are these "criteria matching your qualifications" when they send me a notice of a lead? I'm beginning to think the main criterion is "still breathing", maybe? It doesn't seem much more specific than that!

I also can't help but feel that this puts those of us on the West Coast at a distinct disadvantage for anything that's location-agnostic. If an East Coast client posts the request at the beginning of their workday.......well, let's just say I'm not willing to get up at 4:30 or 5:00 a.m. Pacific, just to browse V123 for fresh leads. So I'm sure I have lost out to those farther east, simply because they are farther east! Crying or Very sad

P.S. Robert, can you throw me a few of your leftovers for that "deep-voiced Canadian with a warm sing-song delivery" stuff? My mom was Canadian, I still get ribbed for sounding Canadian, and I grew up only 15 miles this side of BC --- close enough, isn't it? Laughing

Hello everyone,

It is totally understandable that you have concerns regarding the New Voice123. Please be patient, it is about to be released and we believe it will be a total success for talents and clients.

As I mentioned before the version 2.0 was conceived thinking on increasing the possibilities that the service can deliver to all users using a more intelligent filtering system and a a bunch of new features.

Not a lot more to wait.
