This may seem like an odd request, and I've uploaded a 2-minute recording of myself talking to aid in your response.

I'm hoping someone can listen to the way I normally speak and perhaps offer some advice on what I'm best suited for. I'm having a hard time finding the right type of material. With my choices, often it is something I'm not suited for. I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall.

I'd love to hear your responses, bad or good.

Matt-
I think you answered your own question. Go with conversational. There are far more opportunities there as well.

You have a very nice tone. Try transcribing what you just said and then doing it as a read. I bet you there is something about sitting down with copy in your hand that is causing you to change how you speak.

Matthew,

I agree with George in that you do have a very pleasant speaking voice. Conversational is good. Question is: can you do it with a script? You say you tend to get 'the announcer thing' behind a mike. That can be death to you with a script if you really want to be conversational.

Let us hear what you do with a script.

Good job losing the accent, too.
